Our Mission, Vision, Philosophy

Vision

Together with families, we help children achieve their full potential, in a welcoming and nurturing environment.

Mission

Norparrin is passionate about delivering a flexible, family centered Early Childhood Intervention Program for children 0-6 with developmental disabilities.

Philosophy

Norparrin respects the right of parents to work collaboratively with staff in developing best practice early childhood intervention, educating and nurturing the development of each child.  The use of play and experiential learning are regarded as the most natural and vital tools to encourage this development.

Norparrin also provides the opportunity for other members of the extended family and community to visit Norparrin.

It is important that people who do not attend Norparrin or have limited knowledge of the service develop an understanding of the role of Early Childhood Intervention Programs.

On occasions our groups may have other family members visit, staff from other settings where children may attend eg Kindergarten, Child Care Centres, private therapists. Students from secondary school and tertiary institutions may do placement within our service to assist them in developing understanding and skills that will benefit all children and families. These may include for example students from Maternal and Child Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Teaching.

Other family and children service providers may do observations of our sessions and participate in learning opportunities.

In providing this extension to our service we are respectful of the parents and carers who attend and where possible keep them informed of our activities. People who do access this support and service are grateful and feel privileged for the chance to share learnings together.
