Norparrin Family Support Network
Norparrin have received a grant from the MLC Community Foundation to set up a family support network for past and current families, and for families on Norparrin’s waiting list for services. This network is run by a group of like minded parents with special needs children who want to give back following the support that they have received from Norparrin.
The aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental and supportive environment for the whole family at no cost to the families who attend the program.
We generally will meet on the 3rd Saturday or Sunday of every month (the day will depend on the preference of most families) - please speak to Norparrin staff for more details.
The program will include:
1. Parent / carer respite (time for you) - for example, going out for lunch while the children are cared for by employed staff at Norparrin;
2. Family fun days / social times - for example, family BBQ / picnic, or art and craft day, or visits by an animal nursery; and
3. Discussions on topics of interest provided by therapists or other providers that has experience in the area, or parents who have been on a similar journey to you.
